AbstractBackground: Carcinoma of the breast is the commonestcancer in female and the second most cause of death in cancerrelated deaths.Aim of Study: To overview the different prognostic factors in breast cancer in our patients with breast cancer.Patients and Methods: This retrospective study wasconducted on 100 patients undergoing mastectomy or breastconservative surgery at El-Demerdash University Hospital.Clinico-pathological features including age, weight, familyhistory, axillary lymph node status, tumor size, pathologyresult will be reviewed. Results: Axillary lymph node status shows a significantassociation between the grade of LN and the development ofrecurrence in group N3 patients compared with N, N1 andN2 groups. There is variability in disease-free survival amongthe ER/PR Her2 subtypes within the first 3 years followingdiagnosis after receiving the treatment. While probability offree from disease was best for the ER+, PR +or-/Her2-subtypefollowed by ER-PR-/Her2-(71%) and (50%) respectively. Onthe other hand all patients in subtypes ER+, PR +or-/Her2 +and ER-PR-/her2 + subtypes suffered from recurrence ofdisease. Conclusion: We have found that the extent of nodalinvolvement and hormone receptor expression are very im-portant prognostic and predictive factors in breast cancermanagement and recurrence.
